Project StarLight: “…starbright, the first star I see tonight;”
When I was a child I learned this nursery rhyme – and on those nights when I would look up to the sky, I would say this after I would spot the first star.
And then I would make a wish…
Project StarLight is about finding individuals who are lost, or struggling to overcome their addictive and compulsive habits. Each one of us has difficulties at various times, but for others it is a constant battle. Are you a functional addict? Do you go to work day to day, and can’t wait to get home after work and open a beer? Perhaps you find yourself struggling with a prescription opiate addiction? Or it could be that 20-year smoking habit? There are many people out there who just need someone to help guide and support him or her on this journey.
Project StarLight is about finding your inner StarDom – what are the obstacles keeping you from shining your brightest? What do you wish for?
If you are someone that wants to make a change, if you have been struggling with one specific issue – whether that be alcohol, prescription addiction, substance abuse or behavioral; Project StarLight could be your answer.

Project StarLight Workshops & Public Speaking:
Calling on all healthcare professionals! Are you asking your patients the important questions? Are you uncomfortable when it comes to talking about substance use with patients? Do their stories shock you? You are not alone, in fact most healthcare providers (unless you work with addiction) find that they just don’t know enough about how to recognize and question patients about their relationship with substance use or compulsive behaviors. Project StarLight is reaching out to those healthcare professionals (naturopathic doctors, medical doctors, chiropractors, TCM/acupuncturists, massage therapist and others). If you are interested in having a workshop created or have me speak at a function, please contact me.
Through Project StarLight, I hope to educate colleagues, remove stigma and empower more doctors/practitioners to reach out and be compassionate advocates for their patients/clients. Most likely you know someone with an addiction, perhaps someone struggling and needing help – if they were your family, what would you say?
“…I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight.”
